What do you get when you join two of the most popular subcultures of nerd history together? Well, you get Doctor WhoHentai, but those are not the two popular subcultures that I happen to be talking about today. (Waffle post about that coming soon…?)
No, the two very addictive and highly volatile IPs I refer to are Star Wars and World of Warcraft. Bioware have been really putting their resources on the line with the creation of their new MMO, and although many of it’s long-waiting fans are claiming it will be a WoW-Killer, the Blizzard-born king is a very well-ingrained and highly supported MMO that has fought off more than it’s fair share of usurpers. (We’re looking at you, Aion.)
So will the dark empire of World of Warcraft have it’s Deathstar busted by a good Bioware torpedo in it’s rear exhaust?
Getting me to review Skyrim is a lot like getting Charlie Sheen to review a metric tonne of cocaine. Sure, it’ll be blast, but just you try getting that review out of him. I lost weeks, nay– months to the previous Elder Scrolls games, why oh why did I think that this would be any different…
We love a good fan film. Now and again one will emerge that is actually worthy of being dubbed “good”. How about this for a treat then: a bunch of gun-loons from Airsoft G.I. and celluloid-magicians Northern Five have made a shiny teaser for their upcoming Left for Dead shaped vanity project, which could possibly benefit from a more imaginative title than “Left for Dead Fan Film”.
It all looks rather promising too, just don’t let the kiddie-winks see as it contains lots of fake entrails and even worse: [GASP] smoking.
It’s been a while since we heard anything from them but the lovely chaps over at Simbin studios have just announced a new game in the fantastic GTR series of GT Racing sims: GTR3. The closest they’ve come lately to any kind of sequel after GTR2 was an addon pack for the Race 07 series which added 3 variations on the Nürburgring and a handful of GT cars which although good, wasn’t quite enough to satisfy like a full title would have.
Well aren’t we clever? Give it a listen for some waffles about Skyrim, Orcs Must Die, Bioshock Infinite, Gunpoint, Dota 2 and lots of other stuff… if you can get over the rubbishy sound quality that is (it’s worse at the start).
