Star Wars: The Old Republic Review - Sith Lightning

What do you get when you join two of the most popular subcultures of nerd history together? Well, you get Doctor Who Hentai, but those are not the two popular subcultures that I happen to be talking about today. (Waffle post about that coming soon…?)

No, the two very addictive and highly volatile IPs I refer to are Star Wars and World of Warcraft. Bioware have been really putting their resources on the line with the creation of their new MMO, and although many of it’s long-waiting fans are claiming it will be a WoW-Killer, the Blizzard-born king is a very well-ingrained and highly supported MMO that has fought off more than it’s fair share of usurpers. (We’re looking at you, Aion.)

So will the dark empire of World of Warcraft have it’s Deathstar busted by a good Bioware torpedo in it’s rear exhaust?

Today Bioware have released a bunch of details on the previously-hinted-at Mass Effect 3 multiplayer mode. I’ll admit I’m always sceptical about multiplayer modes in what are essentially single player games, as they so often feel bolted on, but we are assured it will be a ‘cohesive experience’ between single and multiplayer aspects, as it’s been an ‘integrated design effort’. I really hope this is the case, as like so many others I’m kind of precious about the Mass Effect series and I really don’t want to see Bioware cock this up. Continue reading


Dragon Age Redemption - Fight

To promote their new DLC for Dragon Age 2 (scheduled for release on October 11th), BioWare are releasing a 6 part live action show.

Called Dragon Age: Redemption (perhaps referring to BioWare’s attempt to woo the disappointed players of the last game), will be released to coincide with the games release.
