Portal love

We <3 Valve. And apparently they <3 us too! With a bit of luck you’ll all remember my little GLaDOS hair accessory from last week, but what you may have missed is that I emailed a Mr Gabe Newell about it too. Now I wasn’t really expecting a reply from Valve’s big fella, but not only did he email me back (saying little GLaDOS was “pretty awesome”), he forwarded my email on to a plethora of Valve employees (well like 6 anyway), which actually included some the original Portal creators. Portal2 - Atlas & P-Body

The new DLC for Portal 2 was released today for free!

A quick catchup for those of you who haven’t played a Portal game; and if that includes you, I’d highly recommend playing the demo to Portal 1 which can be found on Steam. Put simply this game combines logical puzzle solving, Escher-esque physics and traditional FPS mechanics. The puzzles involve getting from point A to point B with an obstacle or twelve inbetween. The Portals create a fun and noggin-bending mechanism for getting around the levels. Well worth a look if you’ve not played it before.

If it wasn’t enough that the kind folks at Valve were giving away the Portal 2: Peer Review DLC today, they have knocked down the price of the game to £9.99. So now even the hardest of cheapskates can now have their minds’ bent in odd ways. Go get it from the Steam Store.
